To become a part of the cheerleading squad, the first thing you need to do is tryout. Tryouts usually take place near the end of every school year. After school everyone meets in the lunch room (commons) to start practicing. The coach (Mrs. Pfaff) talks to us about what we need to do and when and all other information. You are usually able to pick if you will want to cheer for football, basketball, or wrestling. For the next week the varsity senior cheerleaders teach us the cheers they made, and help us on what we need help on. We are also taught jumps. We have time to practice our jumps and our cheers&chants. After about a week we are tested on what we have learned. We are divided into groups to practice putting our routine together. The next day she takes one group at a time into the auditorium to test us. We all go up on stage, and they will tell us what cheers to do. They will also test us on some of the jumps. Then they test our gymnastic ability. Usually the next day, the results are posted on Mrs. Pfaff's door. GOOD LUCK!
